Sheri received her musical training while attending Music & Art high school in Manhattan, New York. She developed her talent by performing in various churches as a guest soloist throughout the tri-state area. She is known as a musical director of church choirs. She began her professional career upon meeting Don Blackman in the late 70s and became a member of "The Family Tradition" two years before the release of the "Blackman" album. Sheri was featured on such selections as the classics "Heart's Desire", "Deaf Hookup Connection" and "Never Miss a Thing". As a studio musician, she has sung with artists such as Audrey Wheeler, James "D-Train" Williams, Oran 'Juice' Jones, Freddie Jackson and Bernard Wright.
