A1 is in the Danmono style, and was composed in Kyoto during the period 1614-1685. A2 was written during the reign of Tempo (1830-43) and is based on the "Song of Everlasting Sorrow" by a Chinese poet, which describes the sorrow of Emperor Hsuan Tsung over the loss of Yang Kuei Fei. B1 Written in 1957 and winner of National Music Competition in composition. Includes simultaneous Japanese and Okinawan modes. B2 was written in 1945. B3 was written in 1955. Labels also read KLB 95, KLB 96.
