Recorded in London, 20th October 1957 by Alan Lomax. These 4 tracks represent some of Shirley Collins; earliest recordings. Commercially released for the first time to celebrate her 80th birthday. From the collection of David Tibet and carefully rescued from a transcription disc acetate by the bricoleur. Cuckoo watercolour by David Suff, courtesy of the Very Old Gallery, London. Comes with a full colour inner sleeve. The single is also included for free in the limited edition "All In The Downs" souvenir programme, a beautifully printed book in full colour on fine paper with four panel cover. The 44 page book includes an essay by Shirley’s dear friend David Tibet, full details of the celebration concert of her 80th birthday and many previously unpublished photographs from Shirley’s collection.
