US band created in 1982 as an offshoot of The Dits, in order to start exploring live music (whereas The Dits was essentially a studio project). The live band was : Scott Lucas (drums), Brian Keys (bass), Jeff Michel (guitar), John Dickison and Pink Bob, while their "manager" was Steve Rubin. This five-piece Shmaz played a number of gigs in 1983 until August, when John relocated to Chicago and the band folded.
