England's foremost acoustic duo Show Of Hands present the Acoustic Workshop, a unique insight into the arrangements, instruments and techniques that have made Steve Knightley and Phil Beer a leading force on the folk/roots music scene. The 80-minute video is illustrated with observations, anecdotes and advising about the writing, arranging and performing of different styles of acoustic music. Steve and Phil also demonstrate the sound and texture of a wide variety of instruments including the mandoline, cuatro, fiddle, cello-mandolin, and guitar amongst others. Recorded in February 1996 during the highly successful workshop tour that preceeded their ground-breaking appearance at Lodon's Royal Albert Hall. Filmed at Chapel Platt, Topsham, Devon.
