Syama Sastri, also commonly transliterated as Shyama Shastri (1762-1827) is among the most renowned composers of the Carnatic music tradition of India, he was the oldest of the so-called Trinity of Carnatic music, along with Tyagaraja and Muthuswami Dikshitar.
