Band,
Sickness are a Death Metal/Grind band Johor Bahru, Malaysia. Formed in a small town from Kluang, Johor, Malaysia in 1995 the original line up was Jake (bass & vocals), Azrin (drums) & Baba (guitars). Heavily influenced by the fellow goregrinders Carcass, all their material was based on Carcass' first cult release 'Reek of Putrefaction', from image, to songwriting, even their sound, with a touch of death metal. In 2003 the original line up broke up, as Baba and Azrin decided to leave, due to other commitments in life. It was left to Jake to keep the band alive by assembling new line up consisting of himself (guitars, vocals) and new recruits Faizal (drums), Famy (guitars) & Kuma (bass). This new line up released 'Empathological Excavations' cassette EP in 2003, consisting of 10 brand new songs of gore/deathgrind. It was released in cassette format only, for unknown reasons, and it was completely sold out less than a month. Several of the songs from the EP have gone on to appear on quite a number of compilations released worldwide. Unfortunately the new line up didn't last long which forced Jake to put Sickness on the back burner for a while. Jake decided to move to Johor Bahru, Johor, Malaysia where he started up the band again, bringing in Aizal (bass) and Fad (drums). In 2009, Shah was added as a second guitarist to play alongside Jake.
