Silver Abuse was one of Chicago's first punk bands, forming in 1977. The initial line-up split after only a couple shows and without recording. Many of the original members went on to form The Way-Outs. After The Way-Outs split, some of the members reformed Silver Abuse. The band continued with several different line-ups, appearing on the "Busted At OZ" compilation and releasing a 7" in 1982. Former members would also go on to form Naked Raygun and Toothpaste. In the early '80s, it would not be uncommon for Silver Abuse, Naked Raygun, The Way-Outs, and/or Toothpaste to play some of the same songs live (sometimes while appearing at the same show). Silver Abuse split in 1983 but have reformed for a few shows in the late 2000s. Band is still together, performing and releasing albums as of 2016. Releasing Consider The Pigeon in 2016.
