Album FR 2018 on Tour De Bras label
Jazz (Free Improvisation)
"The half-sounded, spectral, or ghostly kind of music here is reflected by the title, Seance. Through the flow of our playing together we were drawn to thinking about shared European histories and topography, perhaps in part because of all the current discussion about Europe. This led us to imagery of the land and sea. There are place names in England of French origin and visa versa and we searched for those that applied to rivers, estuaries, streams and so on and this is reflected by the track titles. Some of these by gone names are strange and mysterious and somehow fitting. In English seance refers to making contact with the dead and in French to a metting, a session. So, Seance signifies something otherworldly, extra-sensory and at the same time an everyday musical encounter."-Simon Rose, liner notes
