Sina Bathaie is known for his unique style and approach toward Persian contemporary music. His hypnotic music made his work distinguishable for fans around the world. Born in Iran, Sina started learning Santur at the age 7 from his father, Master Javad Bathaie. He then followed his passion in music by practicing Persian classical repertoire (Radif) with the instrument Oud and explored the concept of rhythm by learning Tonbak (Persian Percussion) . Sina re-engaged in the music scenes soon after moving to Canada, and started his new journey by performing in many festivals such as Open Mind Festival, Tirgan, Quiet Strings, Kali moon and South Asia calling. As an award winner for the artist residency at the “Banff Centre for Performing Art”, He expanded his diversity in music by performing and collaborating with many talented musicians from different background. His first album “Sound of Silence” was recorded and produced in Montreal and received many positive reviews.
