Singers & Players were the first mutation a of loose collective of 15 to 20 vocalists, musicians & DJ's to form the core of Adrian Sherwood's On-U Sound label. A colourful bunch of Punks & Rasta's, Rebels, Rockers, Instrumentalists and Experimentalists. All of them could also be members of other groups like Dub Syndicate, Creation Rebel, African Headcharge, Playgroup, New Age Steppers etc. Memorable Singers and Players were Prince Far I, Bim Sherman and Mikey Dread, Style Scott, Bruce Smith, Jah Woosh, Ari-Up & Congo Ashanti Roy
