Album UK 1961 on Ace Of Clubs label
Classical (Modern)
Later white label with single large black club logo and "ace of clubs" in red text. Track A2 published by Chappell & Co. Note this is not a straight reissue of "A Concert of English Music" on Decca LXT 5015, although the Bax and Holst items are from this release (1955). The Malcolm Arnold "English Dances", recorded at the same session in November 1954, were first issued on Decca LW 5166 (1955). The Elgar "Bavarian Dances", recorded in October 1954, were first issued on Decca LW 5174 (1955). The Elgar "Chansons" were recorded in February 1954, and this Ace of Clubs release appears to be their first release on LP. "ffrr" logo on front of sleeve (top right-hand corner) Cover photograph unidentified and uncredited. Sleeve notes uncredited. Laminated with 'Clarifoil' made by British Celanese Limited
