This performance was recorded in England, on Mercury's first European expedition at Manchester's Free Trade Hall June 20, 1956. Only three microphones were used - left, center and right - recording to three-track half inch tape. The 3-track tape was then mixed down to 2-track stereo on 1/4" tape. This 2-track Mercury Living Presence "Seeing-Ear" Stereophonic Tape Recording is a 1:1 duplicate of a 2nd (1st?) generation copy of the 2-channel master tape.
