A.k.a. Gid Tanner & His Skillet Lickers
Skillet Lickers was an old-time band from Georgia, USA, formed in 1926 by Gid Tanner. The band was disbanded in 1931, but reformed for occasional recordings after a couple of years with a changing line-up. Original line-up was: Gid Tanner (fiddle), Riley Puckett (vocals, guitar, banjo), Clayton McMichen (lead fiddle, vocals) and Fate Norris (banjo, harmonica). Later members include Lowe Stokes (fiddle), Bert Layne (fiddle), Hoke Rice (guitar), Arthur Tanner (banjo, guitar), Gordon Tanner (fiddle) and Hoyt "Slim" Bryant.
