Sleepmask is Los Angeles based band whose distinctive blend of jagged post-punk, ethereal textures and romantic sensibilities represent an escape into the exotic realm of the senses. Hailing from the Lovecraftian realm, Ming Vauze (vocals, guitar) guides the group with his creations of magik and splendor revealing the beauty within the darkness as he channels the dreamworld with his melodic incantations of enchantment. Driven by reason and curiosity Andru Aesthetik (guitar) brings his razor sharp acumen to construct ethereal soundscapes and discover new laws of sonic sculpture as he seeks to defy delusion with thought and calculation and discover the mysteries of wonder within the universe. Enshrouded in somewhat of an unassuming enigmatic persona, Garey Spider (drums) carefully manipulates pulsating beats into encrypted tribal rhythms for the discerning listener to decipher and assimilate, challenging the ears of the unsuspecting and rewarding those who dig deeper. Ming Vauze previous musical endeavors have included Faculty X, Les Enfants Terribles, So Does The Fire, Mt. Sims, and has also shared writing credit with Black Rebel Motorcycle Club for their single "Need Some Air" from their 2007 release Baby '81. Andru has recently finished playing guitar on a tour with The Chameleons Vox (Mark Burgess) playing alongside other post-punk legends such as For Against & The Avengers. Currently Andru is also working on his solo project The AETHER.
