Band, *1998 NO, Stavanger
Electronic, Pop and Classical
Sleepyard was formed at the Norwegian beach of Hafrsfjord by Oliver and Svein Kersbergen in 1998. Here they found their psychdelic sound and released the following year with the EP “Intersounds” to rave reviews. Intersounds consisted mostly of long instrumental tracks. Sleepyard released “The runner” on trust me records (2003) with new tracks and the Intersounds EP. The band also made music for the movie Monsterthursday in 2004. Sleepyard released their new album “Easy tensions” in 2005. This quiet summer album was also greeted with great enthusiasm and was their most accessible album with a more pop oriented direction. Here the focus was put on harmony vocals in the sound. In 2006 Sleepyard contributed music to an exhibition called Color it pink in Springfield, Illinois. Future Lines was released in 2009 with special guest musicians Mike Garson on piano and Sonic Boom on drones and other tones. This made the material more diverse. Ranging from Exotica, Lo-Fi Pop, Psychedelic folk to classical music. The Kersbergen brothers are now working on a new album called Black Sails.
