Since first appearing in 2004 as a shanty choir, Slogmåkane (The Greedy Seagulls) from the island of Karmøy on the norwegian west coast have gradually evolved and gained a strong reputation as a energetic and dynamic live group within the shanty and Celtic music styles. With its strong connection to sea-shanties, Celtic, Irish and Scottish folk music, well influenced by Karmøys culture as a community of seafarers, they have built up a audience friendly style and sound through the use of traditional instruments, fused seamlessly with bass and drums. This, along with charismatic lead singers and an energetic and dynamic 20-piece choir creates an energy and presence that makes a breathtaking performance for their audience and led them to a impressing 3rd place in the national TV - competition Norway's Got Talent in 2015.
