line-up: Tomáš Janošík (flute), Igor Fábera (oboe), Jozef Luptáčik, jr. (clarinet), Roman Mešina (fagot), Viliam Vojčík (horn) ex-line-up: Jozef Eliáš (clarinet), Peter Kajan (fagot), Karol Nitran (horn), Róbert Krchniak (oboe), Jana Gazdíková (flute) The Slovak Wind Quintet are the leading Slovak Philharmonic players who are also actively presenting themselves as soloists, chamber musicians, some as well as pedagogues. The grouping follows the long tradition of professional chamber bodies, which are formed by leading Slovak Philharmonic players, so it has also sometimes played under the title Slovak Philharmonic Quintet. In particular, the casting of the ensemble has been changing over the past few years, and a number of outstanding instrumentalists have been replaced in its past existence. The quintet is regularly presented mainly on the domestic scene, but also has numerous foreign performances. The repertoire of the ensemble includes edits and original compositions for this cast including the premieres of Slovak composers.
