Butterflies is Snorri's second CD. It contains 12 original compositions written between 1996 and 2000, most were composed in 1999 and 2000. The music is considered by many to have a lighter flavor than Aurora Borealis and contains more tracks blended with authentic nature sounds. The theme composition on the CD (track 3) is inspired by Snorri's favorite insect - The Monarch butterfly. The slow first part of the piece represents the Monarch larva prior to transforming into chrysalis. The percussion supported main piece representes the final stage of this incredible metamorphosis - the emerging of a beautiful Monarch butterfly, taking flight for the first time to enjoy the freedom of flying.
