Album HR 2014 on Little Black Mountain label
Electronic, Rock and Soundtrack (Prog Rock, Psychedelic Rock, Space Rock, Experimental, Ambient)
I - Kava Kava, Emanacija, Ishtar II - Dan San, Proton III - Šapat, Sento de Autuno IV - Trauma, Pust Ciklus is our second studio album. We see the album as an encounter with different sounds, emotions and cultures - somewhere between the notion of dream and journey. Inspired by the mysteries of life, the album represents a cycle ("ciklus") - a continuous flow on planet Earth, the exchange of seasons, and the process of ageing. It depicts the world in which human beings with unsettled and agitated minds perceive natural order as chaos. The album contains nine songs which are divided into four parts of the cycle - four movements which are best experienced if listened in succession, from beginning to end (a practice somewhat lost in contemporary culture). Apart from the regular SNOVI instrumentarium (guitar, bass, drums, keyboards), the compositions on this album blend instruments and sounds from all parts of the world : Australia, Tibet, Turkey, India, Central Africa, South America, Ireland, Japan... In comparison to our first album on which Marino composed most of the songs, on this one we all contributed as composers. Also, here we had the opportunity to work with excellent musicians and other collaborators who contributed in magical ways. Although we wanted to expand on our exploration of world music, we couldn't get away from the contemporary soundscapes: the harsh and distorted sounds, the punchy drums, groovy bass lines and the electronic and ethereal notes of harmony that could take you to no-place and no-time. Marino Buršić (guitars, synths, bass) Branko Crnogorčić (drums, guitars, synths) Marko Kalčić (bass, frame drums, didgeridoo, djembe, vocals) Guests: Branko Radić (orchestration on Ishtar, Sento de Autuno) Samanta Stell (flute solo on Sento de Autuno) Edi Premate (synth violin solo on Ishtar) Srđa Radulović (mridanga and karatals on Ishtar) Tatiana Giorgi (vocals on Trauma) Sandro Peročević (contrabass on Šapat) Ivan Uravić (kaval and djembe on Dan San) Leon Brenko (synth organ solo on Proton) Svetlana Radosavljević (gongs on Pust) Petra Pletikos (cover drawing) Roberta Paljar (cover design) Vocal samples: From the album Children Dreams (Mana, 2003): Suntrai an Fhiolair (Ireland, traditional) on Kava Kava Lullaby (Iran, traditional) on Šapat From the album Murmurs Of Earth (Random House, 1977): Greetings From The Secretary General Of The UN From Youtube: Goddess Ishtar Prayers (Nineveh Shadrach) Recorded, mixed, produced and mastered by SNOVI
