A.k.a. Sofia Stenman
A Finnish-Mexican R&B and pop singer. Born 1984 in Vaasa, Finland. Has also used stage names Sofia Sida and Sofia. She iniated her career at a very early age. When she was seven she started to sing in a church choir. In 1992 she took part in the Finnish children's singing competition ''Tenavatähti'', making her way to the semi-finals. She performed the song ''Den Glade Vandraren''. Before she went on to a solo career she was the other half of the pop duo F2F. Her debut solo album, ''Disco Mamazida'', was released on May 10, 2006. Its title song was released as a single and it went to the top of the Finnish Club Chart, receiving a lot of positive feedback. Disco Mamazida also brought her ''The Newcomer Of The Year'' award, given by the Finnish Club DJs. The second album, titled ''Butterfly'', came out in September 2009. Her mother is Finnish. Her Mexican father is a trumpeter. Her sister has worked as a stylist for the dancers in Madonna's music video. She had an affair with Finnish sprinter Markus Pöyhönen from summer 2006 to October 2007. Their engagement lasted a few months.
