Japanese film director, born January 15, 1957 in Hakata, Fukuoka, Japan. Best known for his punk/biker-themed films such as Crazy Thunder Road and Burst City. Also directed the Einstürzende Neubauten concert film Halber Mensch. In 2012 he changed his name to Gakuryu Ishii.
