Solid is the mature transformation of Solid Impact, band of Porto, Portugal. The will of building a stronger and original movement in the Portuguese scene determined the end of Solid Impact and the birth of Solid. The band shares musicians with great bands as For the Glory, Death Will Come, GoBabyGo and the extinct Genoflie, As Flames Die Out and Metáfora. They had no intentions of becoming the best of all or any of that crap, but there was a strong will of mixing all members music and cinematic inspirations into badass songs of loud and heavy rock n’ roll. After a few months composing they decided to get in the studio and record their 3 best songs, which were afterwards self released in the format of EP. There can be found many influences but all well originally worked, sounding at the same time like something completely new on the rock/core scene. After the large amount of gigs presenting the EP the band closed themselves in the rehearsal room writing the loudest tunes for a really hard and catchy debut cd. In the last quarter of 2008 the newborn “I WISH EVERYDAY WAS SUNDAY” debut full-length was recorded and mixed by João Brandão and assisted by Miguel Marques at studios Sá da Bandeira, and mastered by Alan Douches (Everytime I Die, Converge, Poison the Well, Mastodon, Nile…) at West West Side Studios, USA. Two girls and a guy, a love triangle, a story of lies. This is Solid’s recipe for their debut album, a comic gore story played in nine episodes that fire lethal doses of pure dirty rock n’ roll full of addictive energy and catchy melodies. With influences from Quentin Tarantino till David Lynch this musical romance with moments of freezing suspense will blast every single mind. The disc counts with the special participation of Sofia Loureiro from We Are The Damned. Ricardo Drumond was in charge of all the artwork design. Expect the unexpected and let the plot possess you.
