Alternative/Pop from Oslo, Norway. Something Sally's debut album (release date February 4th 2008) is to be called "Familiar Strangers", and when you listen to their music, it is easy to see why. The sound of Something Sally is unlike anything you've heard before; it's new yet retro, original yet strangely familiar. Since 2006, Something Sally has released 3 singles, 2 music videos, made their Hit40 debut, topped iTunes’ sales charts, been featured as one of Norway’s most export-friendly musical acts, toured Europe and released a single with one of the top-selling female artists of the world, Joss Stone. All this even before their debut album "Familiar Strangers" is available to the public. In July 2006, Something Sally made their break on to the Norwegian music scene with the single "Sally Can’t Wait". The single reached top 10 most selling Norwegian single and Something Sally was chosen as one of Norway's top 15 most export-friendly musical acts in renowned music magazine Music Week. Also their 2nd and 3rd single "The Taste" and "Circles", released Jan 07 and May 07 were well received by the Norwegian media. Both received good rotation on Norwegian radio- and TV stations, and "The Taste" was in February one of the most played songs on Norwegian radio, reaching no.7 on the sales charts. It was through MySpace Something Sally came in contact with soul prodigy Joss Stone. From out of the blue, they were invited to support the singer on two of her shows in Europe during the summer. Joss Stone and her crew were so pleased with the job they did that they were invited to join her whole Europe-tour the coming fall. Over 40 000 people have seen them live and the feedback from the audience has been amazing. Something Sally kicks off the New Year by making their way into Norwegian pop music-history. Never before has an international world class artist done a duet with a fairly unknown, Norwegian debut-band, but on January 2nd 2008 Something Sally released their latest single “Tip of my Tongue” featuring soul star Joss Stone. It was Miss Stone herself who suggested the collaboration, after seeing the band charm Europe night after night with their catchy, melodic happy-pop. In their home country Norway, Something Sally has played some of the most recognized venues such as Parkteatret, John Dee and Blå. It is always a full house when Something Sally enters the stage. With references to Fleetwood Mac and Sally's voice reminiscent of a mix of Annie Lennox and Sade, Something Sally has created their own distinct alterna-pop sound. Honest, catchy melodies and a playful approach to mix musical styles, makes their music original, yet so recognizable.
