Latin
Mexican "Dance" band including Cuban musicians. Initial style was qualified as "son marabú" Undoubtedly, one of the most influential groups in the diffusion of the Cuban Son in Mexico was the Son Clave de Oro, which took the name of the Cuban danzon "La Clave De Oro". Originally born as Son Marabú, a group formed expressly by Agustín Lara to accompany Toña La Negra, the group soon shone on its own, due in large part to the interpretive quality of its members. Among its elements we find many of the legendary musicians of the Son in Mexico, among Cubans and Mexicans such as: Absalón Pérez on the piano; Lalo (Eulalio) Ruiz de Mantilla, tresero of the original Son Cuba by Marianao; Domingo Vernier "Mango", flutist; Manuel Peregrino and Pablo Zamora Peregrino, percussionists; Manolo Güido, trumpeter; Mario Ruíz Armengol, pianist; besides Juan García Esquivel, Ismael Díaz, Chucho Rodríguez, Homero Jiménez, Güicho Iturriaga, Mongo Santamaría and Armando Peraza. Its most important singers were José Vásquez "Chepilla", Pedro Domínguez "Muscovita" and Orlando Guerra "Cascarita", singer of the Orquesta Casino De La Playa.
