A.k.a. Mark Johnson Mark Johnson (14)
Sonic started his career in May 1995. He co. founded Mr Whippy at The Studio, deep in the Cambridgeshire fens. Sonic developed Mr Whippy, its musical style (often described as Nu NRG) and its place as the major player in East Anglia's dance scene. It soon became the top club night at the regieons premier venue, The Junction, attracting acts such as Pete Wardman, Lab 4, Paul Glazby, Steve Thomas, Karim, Chris C, Madam Zu, Blu Peter, Ian M, Max Alien, Mark Sinclair, and Ed Real. Over the following years he made numerous guest appearances at events such as Frantic, Mind Over Matter, Turnmills and The Ministry of Sound, Back To Basics Tour. He became a regular fixture at The Soundshaft, Heaven (Switch residency), in London. The Millennium was seen in with true style as Sonic headlined at The Shepherds Bush Empire, London. His work was no longer restricted to the UK as he frequently travelled to other countries, touring Australia, playing all the major cities on the east coast. He has also toured in Singapore, Taiwan and Poland. Sonic has been producing music along with some of London's top sound engineers at The Ultimate Brain Studio and Hinotori Studios. His first release was a joint production with Mr Whippy resident Mr D and Lab 4 supplied the remix for the flip side, available on Hinotori. Sonic was on Mohawk Artist Management, with this has come releases on Mohawk records sister labels. Sonic is still producing tunes with the likes of DJ X (Lez of Lab 4) and he still occasionally like to play out the odd classics set for his own personal pleasure.
