Buford Wilson “Sonny” Fishback was a soul vocalist and songwriter active from the mid-1960s to the mid-1970s. His initial recordings were released under the name “Sonny Fisher”. Despite the fact that they were released on southern labels, they were were cut in New York/New Jersey like his later releases. He possibly reverted from his artist name "Sonny Fisher" to his own name again, to avoid confusion with the rockabilly artist Sonny Fisher.
