Album UK 2009 on Underdogma Records label
Rock (Hard Rock, Prog Rock, Stoner Rock, Art Rock)
This is the promo CD release of the Last Day of Summer collaboration between Sons of Alpha Centauri & Treasure Cat. Each CD is individually numbered. The promo CD package comes with several pieces of symbol-laden artwork. 'Last Day of Summer' is the creation and merging of two pioneering instrumental rock bands from both sides of the Atlantic. The album is both a split and joint collaboration release and is as such the first of its kind. 'Sons of Alpha Centauri' are a dark instrumental riff rock rock quartet from Swale, Kent, UK. Formed in 2001 'SOAC' reflect on progressive, psychedelic and ambient elements that work to create a hypnotic harmonic pulse to form the body of their vast electronic soundscapes. 'Treasure Cat' hail from the Appalachian Mountains of West Virginia. Morphed from the ashes of instrumental legends 'Karma to Burn', since 2003 an undeniable blend of driving rock hooks and hard sonic riffs has created this all new supercharged rock experience. In 2007 both bands collaborated to write and record a trilogy of new tracks together to form for the first time ever a solely instrumental hard rock super group that has been uniquely delivered by the prestigious hard rock redeemers 'Underdogma Records'. Together with four songs provided by each act the result is a pure instrumental head trip that never lets up and refuses to let go! With musical spectrums covering alternative, folk, experimental, riff rock, stoner, metal & progressive this release reflects some of the most original and forward thinking series of hard rock anthems ever put to tape. The first work from the original 'Karma to Burn' guitarist since 'Almost Heathen' with the new incarnation 'Treasure Cat' and the first release from 'Sons of Alpha Centauri' since their stunning debut this record has to be checked out by any rock fan - instrumental or otherwise! 'Last Day of Summer' available August 2009 exclusively through 'Underdogma Records'.
