Serbian vibe maestro Soul Connection doesn't waste time. Jazz Renegades is his second LP on Soul Deep in less than three years (third if you include his co-lab LP with Payback) and, as always, the quality is as high as the funk. Highlights include the loose double bass twangs and faraway charms of "Give Me The Feeling", the crisp percussion finishes and well-spaced (and heavily reverbed) instrumentation of "Round Midnight", the trippy filtered spiral and reflective riff technique of "Sentimental" and the mournful horn magic of "Don't Stop". That's truly the tip of the iceberg, too. Dig deep!
