Vocalists Dennis Baker and Nifa Spraggins met Bill and John Storch while working together on the West Palm Beach, Florida event "Resurrection Ball '94", a benefit for AIDS research. They struck up a lasting friendship, which included lead and background vocal work on The Demetrius Klein Dance Co./Southern Ballets' performance of "Song" in 1995. Vocal diva, Nifa, a veteran of Palm Beach County musical theater, has performed in many critically acclaimed productions, including The Lyric Theaters' production of Hair in 1999. While recording a Baker/Spraggins composition, "Commit To Me" at Storch Studios in 1998, a line-up of vocalists and instrumentalists formed as Soulproviders. The single "Commit To Me" was released in January 2000 on the Fort Lauderdale, Florida, independent label KIKI Records. An additional member was added to the group in 2000, launching the new name SoulXpres. Members: Nifa Spraggins (vocals), Dennis Baker (vocals), Joanne Baker (vocals), John Storch (guitar, bass), Bill Storch (keyboards)
