A rock band based in Tacoma, Washington, USA who were known for high energy live performances featuring their own fusion of post-punk, ethnic and experimental music. Members included Mark Holt (guitar, keyboards, flute, saxophone, bass guitar, drums, percussion, backing vocals), Mark Bader (lead vocals, percussion), Kelly Mickelson (bass guitar), Dale Lloyd (drums, percussion 1984-1986), Alec Strand (keyboards), David Tobin (2) (violin, viola), and Joe Wood (drums 1984). Sound Color self-released a number of cassette tapes, most of which were only distributed locally between the Tacoma and Seattle areas. Sound Color were active as a band from 1984 to 1986 with Mark Holt using the name as a solo project from 1987 to 1988.
