Although Spectralate's official releases heavily feature string arrangements, electronics and many other instruments and sonic textures, every song starts life with the two members sitting in a room together with two guitars. This is also how the songs are performed live at their rare live appearances. These two volumes of stripped down recordings reveal the skeletons inside the recordings that made up the duo's first three LPs and Welsh language CD EP.
