Band,
Alternative
The alternative metal(core) quartet Spite was formed in July 1996 in Charlotte, NC, with a line-up consisting of vocalist Chris Boone, guitarist Craig Baker, bassist Josh Pratt, and drummer Byron McDonald. Shortly afterwards, Craig Baker was replaced by John Crumpton. Taking their cues from the lean, stripped-down assault of groups like the Deftones or Korn, Spite recorded an album titled "Heavy Whipping Cream" in 1997 and toured the East Coast relentlessly, eventually landing a recording contract with Prosthetic Records. Line-up of the band changed again, replacing John Crumpton with talented Daniel Young (a.k.a. LiveFastDanYoung), formerly of Catharsis (4). Their national debut album, "Bastard Complex", was released in 1999 both on Prosthetic Records and Metal Blade Records. Sadly, shortly after the release of the album, Daniel Young passed away from an overdose. He was replaced by Dave Campbell, but Spite eventually came to a halt not long after.
