Czech rock group. Pioneers of rock’n’roll music in Czechoslovakia, consequently singing in Czech language. Formed in September 1959 in Prague by Tomislav Vašíček, disbanded in early 1965. Successor/offspring groups: Vokální Kvintet Tomislava Vašíčka and Big Beat Quintet a.k.a. The Sputniks (6) Among their one time members were many later known names from the Czech music scene, including Petr Janda, Eduard Krečmar, Jiří Stivín, Jan F. Obermayer, Jan Reiner, Pavel Vrba, Jan Antonín Pacák, Michal Vrbovec, Viktor Sodoma and others.
