A.k.a. Chinmoy Kumar Ghose
Sri Chinmoy (August 27, 1931 – October 11, 2007) was an Indian 'spiritual teacher' and philosopher who moved to the U.S. in 1964. Sri Chinmoy wrote 1,650 books available on-line, 115,000 poems and 23,000 songs, created 200,000 paintings and gave almost 800 peace concerts. During a concert he would usually play 10-15 different instruments, such as a variety of flutes, esraj, cello, dilruba and synthesizer, as well as improvising on piano and pipe organ. Many were inspired by the soulfulness while playing his simple melodies and improvisations. Some of his biggest concerts of meditation music drove audience of more 10,000 listeners.
