A.k.a. Gulaggh
STALAGGH comes from the German word "Stalag" which was a concentration camp in Germany in World War II; the g and the h following after Stalag mean "global holocaust." The band consists of many top musicians from the Dutch and Belgian Black Metal / Industrial scene. Rumours suggest that the band used a murder convict - that killed his own mother at the age of 16 and a mental patient who killed himself a few months after the recording of their 2003 EP, for vocals. According to interviews they used these vocalists because they wanted "the pain and hatred in the vocals to be real and not acted". They call their 'music': 'Misanthropik Nihilistik Audio-Terrror'. All members of Stalaggh are anonymous. In 2007 when they completed their trilogy ('Projekt Nihil', 'Projekt Terrror' and 'Projekt Misanthropia') STALAGGH changed their name to GULAGGH. A Stalag is Nazi POW concentration camp, a Gulag is a Soviet work camp. The extra G and H stand for Global Holocaust.
