Stanoje Jovanović



A.k.a. Stanoje Jovanović

A colonel of the Yugoslav Army in the in the late 1990s/early 2000; he was retired as of 2004. He was also the head of NIC "Vojska", the Yugoslav Army's book and magazine publishing center, and a poet/lyricist. His best-known work is the song "Volimo te otadžbino naša" (Our Fatherland, We Love You), which was set to music by Rade Radivojević in 1997 for the purposes of an army festival. The song, as recorded by Milan Šćepović and Leontina, got very large amounts of airplay in 1999, during the NATO aggression on Yugoslavia.
