Influenced by early 1960's British Invasion bands and the era of the Stone Roses, Venture Lift arose from the imagination of Stanton Warren, an original member of the Canadian Shoegaze group Inner Sound Accelerator (ISA) who performed between 1995-1999 in St. Catharines and Toronto, Ontario. A native of New York State, after the break up of ISA he began recording original material, releasing demos "Music for the Forgotten Ones" on DIY tape in 2001 and as "Astropod" electronica DIY CD in 2002. Venture Lift's debut LP-CD entitled “Futuretoreal" (2007) and the follow-up "Tower of Spacious Karma" (2011) were released on the Detroit space rock label Mind Expansion Records run by Randall Nieman of the group Fuxa. "A Room In A Grand Hotel" released in (2014) was recorded and produced by Ted Orr and Stanton at Sertso Studio in Woodstock with artwork by James Marsh. Stanton was also recently one half of Avondale Airforce releasing a full length LP and CD in 2012. In 2017 Stanton was a contributor to Waywords and Meansigns audio re-creation of James Joyce's Finnegans Wake with the track "...and the band played on." The fourth Venture Lift LP entitled Street of Mirrors with artwork again by James Marsh was also released in 2017 independently on CD. The album is reviewed by Chronogram Magazine in the December 2017 issure.
