A.k.a. Petro Stathoussis
Static Plastic (formerly called DJ Static P) began deejaying in 1987 -- playing for parties in a mobile capacity. His first professional gig was in 1989, manning the decks at clubs like the Twilight Zone, then the Thunder Dome and Caesar's Palace, Pink Cadillac, and Idols in Johannesburg, South Africa. Together with DJ Christos, he was also responsible for introducing "bashes" into the country (they were little more than township raves), and in 1995 the two formed Phat Kat Records. Since then, he has worked with and remixed artists like Lightyear, Robin Hogarth, Acoustic Kitchen, Antigravity, Rebecca Malope, and the late Brenda Fassie.
