"Stealing Orchestra is a band from Porto, Portugal that explores music through sampling and real instruments since 1997" and was formed as "a soundtrack to the visual universe of Armando Brás", the creator of most of the band's album artwork and an artist in his own right. In 2001 they launched their "You Are Not Stealing Records" label. João Mascarenhas is the original driving force behind the group that has seen numerous members.
