Stefan Kudelski (born in Warsaw, February 27, 1929; died January 26, 2013) was a Polish audio engineer. Among his inventions was a self-contained portable audio recorder, the first ever of its kind. Named Nagra, it allowed precise synchronization of audio tape with film, providing filmmakers with studio sound quality during on-location filming, the evoloutions of this device won a technical Oscar four times. Today his son runs the company, based in Switzerland, specialised on digitial encryption, but also on high-end audio products.
