A.k.a. Limo (2)
Stefan Lienemann is mainly known under his stage name Limo. He started as a home recorder during the best times of cassette culture, in the early 80's, and quickly came to the attention of the paisley scene with the duo Fit & Limo he had with his wife Petra. After recording several cassettes with Pure Luege and the said Fit & Limo, he found himself a proper band with experienced Nurnberg musicians, starting The Shiny Gnomes, who during their existence went from Glitterhouse Records (the most important german label for garage rock in the mid-80's) to a major deal with Polydor, resulting among several albums in a minor international radio hit ("Cowboys Of Peace"). All the while he continued his work in his home recording studio, banging out tape after tape under different names, alone or with friends - he must have written tons of songs in his leisure periods, releasing them with Pure Luege, Fit & Limo, The International Milkman, The Jabberwockies, The Eyes Of Fate. The Shiny Gnomes did suffer quite a bit under attack from both sides, the Love Parade ravers and the mutation of garage rock into Grunge, but the new millenium saw him very prolific and successfully worldwide with Fit & Limo, redefining folk rock and hippy meditation as an incredibly versatile multi-instrumentalist.
