Stefan Sagmeister (b. 1962) is an American graphic designer and art director, co-founder of Sagmeister Inc. design studio (currently known as Sagmeister & Walsh), who is based in New York. He studied at the University of Applied Arts Vienna, and later at Pratt Institute on the Fulbright scholarship. Long-standing collaborator with David Byrne and Lou Reed, Sagmeister has spent many years designing for the music industry. In 2005, Stefan Sagmeister received a Grammy Award in the Best Boxed or Special Limited Edition Package category for Once In A Lifetime 3xCD box set by Talking Heads. His second Grammy followed in 2010 for Everything That Happens Will Happen Today album design. In total, Sagmeister Inc. works had been nominated for Grammy eight times, and earned numerous international design awards.
