Steve Cournane is a New Zealand drummer and composer who began playing with Alpaca Brothers in 1984. They released an E.P. Legless on the Flying Nun label. In his late 20’s he studied jazz in Wellington, New Zealand. In 2007 he moved to Lima, Peru, where he lived as a musician and studied Afro-Criolla music for another 7 years. He moved to Auckland in 2017.
