A.k.a. Steven B. Stein Steinski
A New York-based composer, producer, and turntablist. Born August 19, 1951, he began his career in advertising as a copywriter after attending Temple University and Franconia College, but later became a creative consultant and has composed and produced soundtracks for various TV and radio commercials and industrial films. He is also known as for his contributions as a musician and producer to sampling and turntablism, which began in 1983 after he and his partner Double Dee (2) won a remix contest sponsored by the Tommy Boy label, which became the first in a succession of extra-legal works known as "The Lessons". He has also served as a radio station disc jockey and compilation curator.
