Steve Barrow



A.k.a. Stephen Leigh Barrow

Reggae expert and author who started his career running London record shop Daddy Kool mid seventies. Worked freelance for Island Records compiling Reggae & Jamaican music releases. In 1993 he was one of the founders of the highly respected Blood & Fire re-issue label. Barrow's extensive knowledge of reggae was the catalyst for the creation of the Jamaican Reggae Archive Project which is funded and owned by Chris Blackwell with Barrow as de facto curator. Wrote The Rough Guide to Reggae with Peter Dalton (2). He also started and ran the Hot Pot label from 2004 to 2007. His work includes writing liner notes, compiling re-issues and other contributions for labels like Pressure Sounds and Trojan Records.
