Steve taught himself guitar in the early 80's by spending many hours in high school, playing through records from RUSH, Yes and other prog rock and classic metal groups.Later in college, Steve met Paul Slavens, borrowed his 4-track and started playing music in Denton, TX. After a few years of ambient jams, progressive all-night sessions and faking some jazz, Steve played in The Gonemen and later Ten Hands.
