Steven Candael is a Belgian conductor, musician and arranger, son of the composer Karel Candael. He was one of the first conductors of Philharmonie Van Antwerpen (later known as Royal Flemish Philharmonic) in 1956 and served as a director of The Antwerp Percussion Orchestra. In 1936, Steven composed Slaaplied for voice and piano.
