Steve Corbin, better known as "Mugger", was an early roadie for Black Flag and one-time co-owner of SST Records. A teenage runaway, he met Greg Ginn early on and worked for Ginn's SST Electronics company while roading for Black Flag. Later, he fronted the Nig-Heist, a joke rock band known for its sexually-explicit and immature lyrics and crowd-baiting tactics, which included dressing up in long-haired wigs, appearing on stage naked, and asking crowd members (both male and female) for sexual favors. Mugger was generally backed by a revolving door of Black Flag road crew and band members. After 1984, Mugger left the road crew to concentrate on SST, where he handled much of the accounting and day to day details. As a reward for their long hours and hardwork, Mugger and Joe Carducci were each given 25% ownership of the label by Greg Ginn and Chuck Dukowski. Mugger remained with the label until the late '80s when, after disagreements over the type of artists the label should sign, he was bought out by Ginn and Dukowski. In an interview for the "American Hardcore" documentary Mugger stated that he used the money to invest in technology which ultimately made him "independently wealthy".
