Musician of Jazz and Rock
Drummer - percussionist Died on Friday, 11th January 2008 from liver cancer, aged 59 y.o. One of the UK's most acclaimed champions of improvised music and was well-known throughout the jazz world as a drummer in the 1980s/early 1990s with Pinski Zoo and, more recently the improvised group, ZAUM, which The Penguin Guide to Jazz described as "the most exciting band operating in Europe today". Steve was also involved in setting up the Dorset Music Service's Soundstorm [2002], Safehouse musicians collective at Poole Lighthouse, the annual Unsafe Festival of Improvised and Experimental Music [from 2005], Upton House Family Fun Day and much more.
